A gloriously cheerful work, fiendish piano part (Mendelssohn must have been an amazing pianist), in a wonderful performance. One of the best.

Diesen Schumann kannte ich bisher noch gar nicht. Es gibt also immer wieder eine Entdeckung, auch im scheinbar bekannten Bereich. Etwas zu stark vom Klavier dominiert finde ich dieses Werk schon.

Un magnifico, quanto poco frequentato Beethoven eseguito con le giuste intenzioni interpretative. Tutto davvero eccellente! Bravi. ❤

Very nice performance, but I'm always dismayed (and rather puzzled) when the repeat in the finale is skipped. To my mind, hearing the energetic section twice provides a better balance to the mournful & intensely emotional final section - a classic case of a composer having good reason for repeating a section.

I also watched the same performance back in 2016, it was already outstanding, but this one is even better. Goosebumps throughout the entire performance!
